VANDA

Vanda orchids have magnificent blooms of up to 5 inches across! These orchids naturally occur in Northern Australia, Indonesia, China and surrounding areas where they cling to tree trunks and branches high in the forest canopy where they receive the bright like they like. In cultivation they are usually presented in either a slatted wood hanging basket or in a glass vase to accomodate the roots (not for filling with water!)

A central stiff stem has short (up to 7 inc) dagger shaped leaves that apear oposite each other up the stem (like ladders). The flowering spike emerges from somewhere along the stem (usually near the top) and is arching in nature and up to 24 inches long. The open, flat faced flowers apear along the length of the spike and are long lasting.

Minimum winter temperature 60F/16C (warm)

We would like to thank you for your continued support throughout the year.

We are now closing for the winter (most things are sold out and the rest are too tropical for sending out) and will re open in the spring. Although we wont be getting more plants in until spring we can still send out sundries.
