This is the orchid that produces commercial vanilla pods (the seed pod) used in cooking. These are young plants trained up a 80cm (31.5 inch) moss pole and the plant will root in to it as it scrambles up. The rest of the growing conditions are pretty much the same as Phalaenopsis orchids These should produce flowers within 2 - 3 years
